Kate Middleton is currently the Duchess of Cambridge, and if her husband, Prince William, becomes king, she will automatically become queen consort. However, if Prince William does not become king, then Kate Middleton will not become queen. The title of queen consort is given to the wife of a reigning king, so it is dependent on Prince William's future as king. **

Any changes in her appearance could be attributed to makeup techniques, aging, weight fluctuations, or simply different angles in photographs. Kate Middleton has not publicly addressed any rumors or speculation about cosmetic procedures, so it remains purely speculative. **

However, both Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, as well as Kate Middleton and Prince William, have faced their own unique challenges and struggles within the royal family. Meghan and Harry have been open about their mental health struggles and the difficulties they faced within the institution, while Kate and William have also had their own public challenges. No, Kate, the Princess of Wales, is not named Middleton as her last name. Her full name is Catherine Elizabeth, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge. As for Meghan Markle, after her marriage to Prince Harry, she became Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex. The members of the royal family typically do not use a last name in the same way that commoners do. Instead, they use their royal titles. However, when a last name is needed, they may use Mountbatten-Windsor, which is the surname adopted by some members of the royal family. **
